Our Phonic Drills class is designed to help children ages 5-7 build a strong foundation in reading through engaging and interactive phonics activities. This fun-filled class focuses on teaching essential phonetic sounds, blending techniques, and word recognition to improve reading fluency.
What the Class Includes:
- Daily Phonic Drills: Each session features structured phonics drills that reinforce sound-letter relationships and blending. This helps children decode new words quickly and confidently.
- Interactive Games and Activities: From "Sound Hunts" to "Blending Races," we incorporate games to make learning phonics fun and engaging. Kids will have the opportunity to play while practicing key reading skills.
- Rhymes and Songs: We use catchy rhymes and songs to reinforce vowel and consonant sounds. This multisensory approach ensures children retain phonics concepts while having fun with music.
- Hands-On Worksheets and Craft Activities: Each class includes worksheets and hands-on activities, such as phonics puzzles and crafts, to practice letter-sound correspondence and word formation.
- Group Reading Time: Children will practice reading simple sentences and stories together, applying their new phonics skills in real-world contexts, while fostering a love for reading.
Fun Factor:
- Phonics Treasure Hunts: In each session, we introduce fun phonics treasure hunts where kids search for objects that match specific sounds.
- Phonics Art Projects: After learning sounds, children will create colorful art projects that integrate their phonics skills, such as "sound monsters" or "letter superheroes."
- Phonics Superstars Awards: At the end of each week, students will earn special "Phonics Superstar" awards for their participation, motivation, and progress.
